I feel a bit silly. Up until last night, I assumed that a Perfect Manhattan was equal parts Sweet Vermouth and Whiskey, when in fact the ration for a Manhattan is 2:1. My mistake was in the Vermouth. A Perfect Manhattan is equal parts Sweet and Dry Vermouth mixed together with twice as much Whiskey. What a fool! I’ve had all wrong, all this time. I can hardly wait to try this out with my new bar that clips onto the tub.

Let’s recap:

The Perfect Manhattan

2oz. Whiskey or Bourbon (I prefer the Club, Canadian Club)

0.5oz Sweet Vermouth

0.5oz Dry Vermouth

shake/garnish/serve
